Sheringham

Sheringham is one of my abstract seascape series, the rough sea, the sheer vastness of the coastline watching small fishing boats catapulting themselves out over huge whitecapped peaked waves, this picture ingrained itself into my memory along with the more stark aspects of the concrete sea defences, the playfulness of the colourful beach huts, its a place that filled my senses so much so I had to paint it.

Weybourne
Norfolk East Anglia
Weybourne beach is made up of flint the backdrop of the chalk cliffs which at sunset glow different shades of orange make it a dramatic setting, the coastline is visible for miles. The wide-open expanse and the rolling sea is mesmerizing, another location that I just had to paint.

Hemsby

Hemsby is by today's standards still behind the times, that's one of its main charms that made me fall in love with the place. I've stayed here a few times and continue to visit when I can. It has gorgeous golden sandy beaches behind high rolling dunes. It has a certain warmth about it and I don't mean the suns rays, it is an old fashioned seaside resort shops arcades and the residents who live and work there all combine to make it like visiting an old friend, so you could say I painted its portrait.

Great Yarmouth

Great Yarmouth, a busy bustling place not normally to my taste, but the wide-open promenade and miles of beech gave me a sense of peace, quite an oxymoron!
It's easy to ignore the funfairs and turn your gaze to its Victorian past, all these elements needed to be represented in a painting, even the Yarmouth eye, the Ferris wheel.

Hunstanton

Hunstanton has the most unusual rock formations on the beach I've ever come across, you can't help but stare and try to work out how it came to be, the rock mounds in many places are in vertical and horizontal rows almost as if they had been deliberately placed, bizarre fascinating, a great place to visit the beach and town is lovely too

Mental health
I'm not adding individual descriptions to each painting as the meanings are personal to me. The names I hope are self explanatory
Mental health is a huge issue worldwide, the pandemic has pushed so many into a bad place. I've had my battles but I got help and had a wonderful counsellor. It's not an easy thing to do to ask for help but please reach out.
